Created attachment 82619 [details] thx.mp2 I tested this on alpha and x86. I ran into the following problems on both systems... plaympeg detects, but doesn't play correctly mp2 files. I attached a sample mp2 file that works fine in mplayer. With plaympeg and gtv it sounds like a bunch of short beeps at different pitches. $ plaympeg thx.mp2 thx.mp2: MPEG audio stream Audio MPEG-2 Layer 2 96kbit/s 22050Hz stereo Size: 161750 Total time: 13.479167 Attempting to play an mp4 file causes a Floating Point Exception $ plaympeg thx.mp4 thx.mp4: MPEG audio stream Audio MPEG-1 Layer 1 384kbit/s 32000Hz stereo Size: 109237 Total time: 2.275771 Fatal signal: Floating Point Exception (SDL Parachute Deployed) The progress slider in gtv doesn't work. I can't skip to a particular part of the video or song. Additionally, moving it to a lot different positions while playing/pausing/unpausing causes it to crash. # emerge --info Portage 2.0.54 (default-linux/x86/2006.0, gcc-3.4.5, glibc-2.3.5-r2, 2.6.15.1 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.15.1 i686 Pentium II (Deschutes) Gentoo Base System version 1.6.14 dev-lang/python: 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.12 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-Os -march=i686 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-Os -march=i686 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://cs.ubishops.ca/pub/gentoo http://adelie.polymtl.ca/ http://gentoo.cites.uiuc.edu/pub/gentoo/ ftp://gentoo.arcticnetwork.ca/pub/gentoo/" LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://134.153.48.2/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X aac aim alsa apache2 apm arts audacious audiofile avi berkdb bitmap-fonts browserplugin bzip2 cli crypt ctype cups dba dri eds emboss encode esd exif expat fam fastbuild flac foomaticdb force-cgi-redirect ftp gd gdbm gif glut gnome gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 icq imlib ipv6 jabber java jpeg kde lcms libg++ libwww lua mad memlimit mikmod mmx mng mono motif moznocompose moznoirc moznomail mp3 mpeg msn mysql ncurses nls nocd nptl nptlonly nsplugin offensive ogg oggvorbis openal opengl oscar oss pam pcre pdflib perl png posix python qt quicktime readline real sdl session shorten simplexml sndfile soap sockets spell spl ssl symlink tcltk tcpd tiff tokenizer truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev userlocales vorbis win32codecs wxgtk1 xml xml2 xmms xsl xv xvid yahoo zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LINGUAS #
