Description SpanKY gentoo-dev 2002-12-21 18:36:08 UTC
psmisc-19 is about 2 years old now ...

psmisc-21.2 merges/runs fine on all my x86 machines ...
Comment 1 Mark Guertin 2002-12-23 13:01:00 UTC
for ppc it hasnt been tested, nor is this the time to be randomly bumping things
that aren't broekn. THis should be done after our 1.4 release most definately.
Something important like this needs good testing and not jsut a 'works for me'
please unmask it.
Comment 2 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2002-12-23 13:43:33 UTC
whcih is why i filed a bug to inform all arch's of said package

and its not just a 'it works fine over here', it works for everyone ive talked to on x86

i can understand pushing this package off past 1.4 but it should be looked at for unmasking for
all archs none the less
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2002-12-28 20:02:46 UTC
think we could get this into 1.4 ? :P

alpha/sparc: what are your experiences ?
Comment 4 Christian Birchinger (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-29 05:52:47 UTC
I've used 21.2 for a few weeks without any problems on my SPARC machine.
I would say it's stable and the KEYWORD for sparc should be added.
Comment 5 Bjoern Brauel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-29 08:34:39 UTC
seems to be stable on alpha as well.
Comment 6 Jack Morgan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-30 22:39:54 UTC
checked with other sparc devs, and we all agree on moving psmisc-21.2 to stable
for sparc. Will do so unless there is an objection?
Comment 7 Seth Chandler 2002-12-31 17:48:24 UTC
i've been using psmisc 21.2 for ppc for the last several weeks...it has run
absolutely fine for me.

its quite a small package, and i've tested all the binaries, etc.

I think it would be fine to bump to stable, but as always gerk has the final
word on that....Gerk, let me know what you think....

Comment 8 Olivier Reisch (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-01-01 02:20:27 UTC
It works fine for me on PPC as well. I think it's safe for stable marking.
Whether you want to do so before or after 1.4 release is up to you.
