On the Live-CD, there were no net tools: no ifconfig,no net-setup nor adsl-setup so it is not possible to install the release. The graphical installer stays blocked on the first screen, again, no installation possible.
Were you running those commands as the 'gentoo' user or root? On the LiveCD, you can do 'sudo su -' in a terminal to get root access. As for the installer, can you be a bit more specific than "stays blocked on the first screen"?

On this first screen, I have to check the box "Network configured & running" for being able to access the next screen. That is a progress but not true because network is not running so I have no access to mirrors or repositeries to realise the installation.
All of those tools are available, they just require root access to run, as mentioned in the Handbook.
I tried with sudo -i and then got access to net-setup eth0 and adsl-setup. Thank you for the help. For the GTK-Installer, the checkbox "My network is connected and running" has to be checked for continuing. I think my problem is resolved
