Description Malte S. Stretz 2002-12-21 13:24:17 UTC
In the current profile the order of the PATHs is /bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin.
All other distros I know (Debian & SuSE) do it the other way round which makes
some sense because that way you can compile a (newer) package and place it in
/usr/local. The bins from the newer version will now overrule the old ones.
That's also login's default so I think it might be in the LSB, too, but don't
pin me down on this.

I'll attach a patch which does this by moving /usr/local/bin from
/etc/env.d/00basic to /etc/profile and changing the order.

Regards,
Malte

Any further thoughts or progress on this bug? It's been idle for nearly a full
year.
