Description Chris White (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-05 23:03:19 UTC
So I went to the site, got my ibm id thingy, then went to download the file. The files are downloaded, however it looks like they're renamed. The site has:

IBMJava2-SDK-142.ppc.tgz

but the ebuild wants

IBMJava2-SDK-142.ppc-SR4.tgz

which, I rename locally and it complains about invalid size errors.
Comment 1 Andrew Brock 2006-03-05 23:13:13 UTC
I think SR4-1 is current, not SR4. IBM doesn't rename it's JDK downloads to represent minor version bumps.
See: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122220
You can either regenerate the digest or get the older version from the website (I'd recommend the former). Probably needs a bump in portage?
Comment 2 Saleem Abdulrasool (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-06 20:59:35 UTC
The files have been moved. Due to the package freeze, I can not currently bump the VM. Please download the proper distfiles.
Comment 3 Wormo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-25 23:18:35 UTC
How about a bump now that the freeze is over?
Comment 4 Josh Nichols (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-26 07:49:26 UTC
The package freeze certainly is not over. However, we are taking care of severe bugs that come along, that necessitate a bump... which I would put this bug in the category.
Comment 5 Wormo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-10 15:17:21 UTC
Sorry, I misunderstood package freeze to mean not unecessarily bumping versions while 2006.0 was about to be released. I guess it actually refers to the java stabilization effort.

Ok then, should this be fixed in the same manner as bug #122220, by directing to the old packages area?

Sorry, I had sworn I committed this already, but apparently not. Will try to get it committed later tonight.
Comment 8 Wormo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-10 15:36:20 UTC
I'll commit it now if you're ok with it
Comment 9 Josh Nichols (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-10 18:01:55 UTC
Sure, go for it. One catch though.... the SR4 release for AMD64 is still on the original page. It's annoying...
