Description Arvid Norlander 2006-03-05 05:05:48 UTC
The last versions of livecd-specs and livecd-kconfigs are 2005.1. Shouldn't 2006.0 be available?
Comment 1 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-12 05:05:18 UTC
We normally don't release the specs for a couple weeks, just in case there's a problem. At any rate, they'll be added, don't worry.

Ok. I would like to make my own stage3 with some changes. Installing Gentoo on 50 AMD64 computers is not that fun... ;-)

The stage3 specs are going to be almost identical to 2005.1's... in fact, the only difference is the snapshot, the profile, and the version stamp. All of the stage information comes from the profiles, not the spec files.

And the cd tings? They will be quite diffrent, wouldn't they?

Not for the Minimal/Universal, only for the LiveCD (obviously)... very little changes between releases, really. At any rate, you don't need to create your own CD just to make your own stages.

hey, me heart will also feel better if the 2006.0 specs where in portage, becouse i would like to have some extra packages on the minimalcd (i use it as a rescoue system:)

or are there no differences bbetween 2005 & 2006 (okay the packages are newer)?

cheers,

The differences are *very* minor. There were no new packages from 2005.1 to 2006.0 on x86, for example.

What about AMD64 then? I'm most intrested in that one.

I just added 2006.0 and 2006.1 to CVS...
