reopen with 'emerge -pv wget openssl', emerge --info and with config.log attached (don't paste it inline).
Comment 2 Eric Brown 2006-03-30 15:06:17 UTC
confirmed on my new 2006.0 install. After a textbook install, I tried to emerge -uD world. Apparently, this updated openssl and left wget broken (bad links to old ssl .so). I was also unable to rebuild wget until I rebooted into the livecd to grab the tarballs!

Anyway, I re-emerged openssl (just in case), and tried to emerge wget (which resulted in this --with-ssl error). I'll attach my config.log

BTW, revdep-rebuild doesn't seem to help, I still have a few packages with bad links.

I'm experiencing this, too. It seems to only happen when selecting static and ssl use flags.

'emerge -pv wget openssl':

[ebuild R ] dev-libs/openssl-0.9.8h-r1 USE="kerberos (sse2) zlib -bindist -gmp -test" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] net-misc/wget-1.11.1 USE="ipv6 nls ssl static* -debug -socks5" 0 kB

'emerge --info':
