This is not a glsa.
Although in portage for a bit more than 1 month, samba-3.0.21b has been tested in production by some users since the appairing in bugzilla (first days of January).
Comment 1 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-02 07:31:36 UTC

SPARC nmbd death log

nmbd from 3.0.21b/c dies horribly after a couple of seconds on sparc.
Looking at the changelog there have been big-endian fixes lately but maybe they're missing something yet.

Comment 6 Joshua Kinard gentoo-dev 2006-04-24 10:45:20 UTC
The mips team doth annoint this bug with the mips keyword of stability +1.
Comment 7 Jason Wever (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-28 16:12:09 UTC
samba-3.0.22 is now stable on SPARC. Gustavo's nmbd crashes appeared to be related to having a remote announce broadcast address defined when none of the interfaces samba is configured to use on a host covered that broadcast address.
Comment 8 Christian Andreetta (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-29 04:50:14 UTC
One month ago I've opened a bug in upstream bugzilla for this [1]. Samba should not crash for such a little thing... :-)
