Description crusaderky 2006-02-27 11:48:18 UTC
[attn CJK team]

the man page for kakasi is completely unintellegible. I couldn't figure out what charset it uses, if any.

I'm using gnome-terminal and I've got the unicode USE flag set system-wide. Other man pages work fine.

Plus, at the end it says:

SEE ALSO
       mkkanwa(1)

but such page doesn't exist.

I've got LC_ALL="it_IT.utf8"
Forcing LC_ALL="C.utf8" gives the same output.
With LC_ALL="C" I get escape codes instead of characters.

One of the Japanese ones. Not really something we should be fixing.

in CVS there's a perfectly readable english man page:
http://cvs.namazu.org/kakasi/man/kakasi.1?rev=1.1&view=markup

I suggest you to provide a CVS version of the package.

No, thanks. Ask upstream to do a new release.
