Description Roland Stadtmueller 2006-02-24 22:20:18 UTC
I think this is due to a changed behaviour in the mm-page mapping code of the kernel (not verified)
An upgrade to the currently masked x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.22.5 solves the problem quite smoothly.
8.22.5 works quite fine for me.
Have fun,
   Roland

please don't paste emerge --info into the summary
Comment 2 Jory A. Pratt 2006-02-26 16:29:41 UTC
everything before 8.21.7 is known to not work with >=2.6.15.
Comment 3 Roland Stadtmueller 2006-02-28 08:17:07 UTC
Eh ... sorry, my fault: intention was to have the amd64 KEYWORD unmasked in the x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.22.5.ebuild. Thanks, Roland

Obsolete bug. Just FYI, kernel 2.6.18 issues are tracked in Bug 148424.
