Description R. May 2006-02-24 09:01:05 UTC
Hello,

if xen works the network will go offline

for a xm create I get

Device 2049 (vbd) could not be connected --> Hotplug Error

I still can ping my local Network Card with the assigned IP Address but I cannot reach any Computer outside.

Regards Roland

What version of xen?

Are you running hotplug or udev? Do you have the udev xen rules installed? What errors are you getting from hotplug?

Hello,

a emerge iproute python twisted bridge-utils curl

fixed the Problem

I think it's a depend Problem in the ebuild

Xen already depends on all of those things (do an emerge -pe xen), except for twisted which isn't used by xen anymore. You original error message was from xen trying to hotplug a virtual block device (eg. hard drive partition), not a network device, though if something is wrong with udev/hotplug it can obviously affect both.

Closing. Please reopen if you see this problem with xen-3.0.2.
