'emerge doom3-demo' tries to download 'doom3-linux-1.1.1286-demo.x86.run' from location 'http://3dgamers.gameservers.net/pub/3dgamers/games/doom3/'
Link seems to be broken (DNS is resolved)
Downloading from location 'http://3dgamers.iinet.net.au/pub/3dgamers/games/doom3/' works.

gameservers.net isn't currently communicative as a 3dgamers mirror - perhaps it should be removed as a mirror.

It isn't a problem, it just causes a slight delay until wget timeouts while attempting to read from it. Portage will then try a different mirror.

O.k., will be more patient next time. Was not aware of that long wget-timeout (seems to last for hours)
Dead-Link will be removed by maintainers?
(Had to set priority back to P5, for this is more applicable)

It's a valid problem with the list of 3dgamers mirrors - see bug #124242
