If I remember correctly, we are still missing something called inet6-apps... 
Can you comment a bit more on this ebuild.  Do you have it working on a system 
currently?  Have you needed to add any other packages not available in portage?

From fetchmail-6.2.0/INSTALL:
> Building in IPv6 support *requires* glibc 2.1.1 (or newer) or
> that Craig Metz's inet6-apps kit be installed.

Today glibc provide all needed IPv6 functionality. So inet6-apps isn't needed to
use IPv6.
But fetchmail can't use ipv6 on gentoo systems without any changes. It use
different service names (see /etc/services). fetchmail-6.2.0-gentoo.diff fixes this.

-r1 is now in portage.  Please test and comment on this bug report.
