After run emerge rsync
when I run emerge it display:
"root@mail suse # emerge
!!! Invalid token (not "=") gcc
!!! Parse error in /etc/make.defaults. Never modify this file.
!!! 'emerge sync' may fix this. If it does not then please report
!!! this to bugs.gentoo.org and, if possible, a dev on #gentoo (IRC)
root@mail suse #
"

Comment 2 Nicholas Jones (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-18 06:40:46 UTC
rm -Rf /usr/portage/profiles
emerge rsync
Comment 3 eric zhang 2002-12-18 21:04:21 UTC
I did rm -rf /usr/portage/profiles
then emerge sync
root@mail suse # emerge sync
>>> Note: /etc/make.profile isn't available; an 'emerge sync' will probably
fix this.
>>> starting rsync with rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage...
rsync: getaddrinfo: rsync.gentoo.org 873: No address associated with hostname
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(97)

>>> Updating Portage cache...

root@mail suse #
