Dear Sir/Madam, I have a question/concern about how the Mplayer ebuild respects the -X flag. When on a command-line only x86 system, I tried to install mplayer, it wanted to install the xorg-x11 and xterm as dependencies (as well as libsdl, NB I had already installed lame for semething else). However I ran: emerge -O libsdl mplayer And mplayer emerged fine and plays audio files beautifully without xorg-x11 or xterm. The point is, Should the mplayer ebuild allow users with USE="-X" to install it without xorg-x11 and xterm? I think it should. Thankyou for your time, Best Wishes, Zeth
Reopen with 'emerge -pv mplayer' output.
# emerge -pv mplayer These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done!
