Name: Benigno B. Junior Email: bbj@gentux.com.br IRC nick: bbj Role: Gentoo/*BSD Benigno has been helping out with Gentoo/NetBSD and Gentoo/OpenBSD project, providing patches and detailed problems reports when the current patches were messing up the non-Linux support. As usual for new Gentoo/ALT developers, commit access to gentoo-x86 is not required until either gentoo/*bsd moves into gentoo-x86 or he wants to join other herds. Access to project pages and gentoo-alt svn is required.
Diego: I should let you guys add me as recruiter liason for Gentoo/*BSD. Benigno: Bug taken, and due already. Please send me your answer to the quizzes and some persoanl info to introduce you (will be used for the mail to gentoo-dev).
Ok, bugs done, ssh-key done, cvs done, ldap done, ldap-voodoo done TODO: * introduction to gentoo-dev ML
Introduction sent. I still need to update usernfo.xml with the correct pronounciation of bbj's name and hometown in utf8. On the other hand, i have no clue how to do that properly. recruiters: Someone here to give me a helping hand?

Dear Benigno, Possible retirement pending as you haven't shown any activity few months (according to bugzilla, the last one was 130837: 2006-11-13 02:46:09). If you are just away, then please use the devaway system. Please be advised that devaway may also be considered inactive if it extends past 60 days. Please reply and advise on your situation. Any developer found to be inactive for a period in excess of 60 days is subject to be retired. Please be aware that if we have not heard from you within 2 weeks time, we will begin the retirement process. If we do retire you, it's pretty easy to come back when you are ready. Just do the ebuild/end-quiz again and you're back on.
Hi, Phreak and others. I would like to apologise everyone (especially the folks of the team I work for) for being away. I only informed Flameeyes about my initial situation and no one else. I've been away from the development a long time due to an eye disease I acquired named glaucoma. I did an initial treatment with some special liquids but I ended up having two surgery interventions. During the treatment I had a lot of moments of heavy depression. I had to put all my work and studies on hold and thus my hobby of working here, and I thought about giving up my work on Gentoo. Two months ago I was informed with the cure of the disease, but I'm still on observation until January 2008. My left eye's view is about 85% and doctors say it will get better with time. I can read and write normally. I only have a little "fog" on my left eye's view. Thanks God I'm now good. I haven't come to keep my work here during these 2 months because I have a lot of accumulated work to do that have more priority in my life, I depend on them, and I'm solving them. I'll have to wait about 2 more weeks for me to get into my work here again (I'll use the devaway system now). I've been thinking a lot about retiring before, almost did it once, but I decided to let it the way it was with my hope of coming back soon. I would like to keep my collaboration here, as I passed the worst moments. Thank you.
Sure, I'm glad you're okay ..

I've been trying to get things done, but I'm totally alone working on Gentoo/{NetBSD,OpenBSD}. It will take more time and man power to bring those projects up to reality so, for now, I better (would be more fair) retire and see what happens tomorrow. I won't stop working on them, and to be honesty, cvs is not required now to me to keep the things going... Please, consider my retirement. Thanks everybody for everything, especially to Flameeyes and Kugelfang.
(In reply to comment #11) > I've been trying to get things done, but I'm totally alone working on > Gentoo/{NetBSD,OpenBSD}. > > It will take more time and man power to bring those projects up to reality so, Sorry to bump here, but hey!, why not add whatever you've got to the 'new' gentoo-bsd overlay, perhaps those that (in the near future) checkout it for Gentoo/FreeBSD check out your stuff and may want to help. Just saying. Now that I've got hardware I may also be able to give a hand.
I'm sorry to see you leave Benigno but it's been more than two years since your last commit and more than half a year since you touched Bugzilla. Infra, please process Benigno's retirement.
bbj, can you give me a way to contact you before leaving[ your @g.o address doesn't work]? I'm currently trying to update g/obsd to 4.3 and I need some informations. Infra: sorry if this isn't the right place, but I didn't know another way to contact him.
infra-processed on 2008-08-10.
