Description Mike C. Fletcher 2006-02-19 21:38:26 UTC
This ebuild is for the recent ctypes 0.9.9.3 release, this release fixes a number of bugs on AMD64, particularly should close:

  http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117998

and may eliminate the problem described in:

  http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120360

though that bug suggests the problems are elsewhere (though the fixed bugs in ctypes would solve the problems described there).

Changelog:

  20 Feb 2006; Mike Fletcher <mcfletch@vrplumber.com> ctypes-0.9.9.3.ebuild
  +ctypes-0.9.9.3.ebuild
  0.9.9.3 fixes bugs on AMD64, ~amd64 added
Includes previous patch in the upstream sources

Hmm, too strong a statement at the end of the description: 0.9.9.3 solves a number of segfault problems, but most of them were seen well after the library had loaded, haven't seen the failure-on-load behaviour.
Comment 3 Marien Zwart (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-20 06:18:56 UTC
Version bumped, thanks for reporting. I have not added the amd64 keyword and have not closed the other bugs because I'm on x86. I'll look into them or have someone look into them later.
