Attached are changes to MAKEDEV and the baselayout ebuild which add preliminary 
support for the mips target.  I'd appreciate it if you could squeeze it into the next 
release...

Fix on CVS.  Should be in baselayout-1.8.5.6 ...

Hi, just mark stable for mips (or get the mips dev), or reopen if its not working
fine ...
