Description Amit Pansare 2002-12-17 10:20:22 UTC
I am not very sure if this is Gentoo problem or Yahoo messenger problem. I have
build yahoo messnger on two machines and on both machines they run well for
first time.After restarting Yahoo Messneger, the sentence that is typed in IM
window send area, it appaers proper, but when it goes to send area, thats is the
chat area (using rough words, I dunno the terminlogies), all i can see is some
dots and dashes. IF we remove the menu.rc that is formed in the path
~/.ymessenger and restart it, the problem gets solved.
So everytime I have to use Yahoo Messenger I have to do rm ~/.ymessenger/menu.rc
and then everything runs smooth.
Plz look into this. Thank you

I'll have a chat with the ymessenger developers upstream

The ebuild has been updated in portage. ymessenger is now just a symlink to ymessenger.bin and gtkhtml is a required dependancy.
Comment 5 Amit Pansare 2003-01-19 23:51:19 UTC
Somehow I cannot see any change in ebuild. I am using USE="x86". I also tried
looking in /usr/portage/net-im/ymessenger There was nothing I could find for
USE="~x86".
