make[1]: *** [sane.ind] Error 1

sane.ind is built using LaTeX which isn't in the sane-backends dependencies...
Comment 2 Patrick Kursawe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-27 02:43:33 UTC
Sorry, I currently don't have much time. Can't promise to fix this soon. Please have patience.
Comment 3 Patrick Kursawe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-18 09:19:01 UTC
Didn't find a clean solution for this, so I just added tetex to the dependencies.
Comment 4 Matteo Azzali (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-18 16:23:16 UTC
@Olaf: can you be more specific and tell us the use flag you're using and the SANE_BACKENDS variable (could be in /etc/make.conf)?

I removed the latex dependancy (no latex here) and still it emerges fine,
my flags are : gphoto2 usb -ipv6 -v4l ,
my backend was snapscan but I removed and emerged all backends... still fine.

~x86 here.

I also posted an ebuild in bug #133728, please try that and/or try
USE_LATEX="no" emerge sane-backends
Comment 6 Olaf Walkowiak 2006-05-18 23:46:51 UTC
Tried it again:

USE="gphoto2 usb -ipv6 -v4l"

SANE_BACKENDS not set, building all backends

For some reason it works now..

So you can't reproduce the problem any more? If yes, we could close this as WORKSFORME since I am in the same situation. Strange...
Comment 8 Olaf Walkowiak 2006-05-19 08:48:54 UTC
Yes, I can't reproduce it. Really strange
Comment 9 Patrick Kursawe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-21 23:26:50 UTC
Whatever it was, let's hope it won't happen again.
