I've tried to get rid of the x11-plugins/enigmail package since it messes up thunderbird but my system keeps installing it. mozilla-thunderbird has a undocumented dependency towards it. In my opinion, a application should never have a dependency on a plugin unless the application cannot run without it. In this case, it runs fine without enigmail, it even runs better.

I did and that works, thanks. It still isn't documented though, at least not according to gentoo-portage.com. enigmail has no reverse dependancies.

I guess good documentation is not something you want. So, considering your attitude, nevermind.

We don't run gentoo-portage.com at all. http://gentoo-portage.com/FAQ <snip> What is gentoo-portage.com? gentoo-portage.com is an unofficial gentoo package listing system. It provides detailed information regarding the package and allows users to post their own comments. </snip> Go complain to the people responsible for that domain that it doesn't document reverse dependencies of whatever. We don't care much about gentoo-portage.com, to be honest...
