Yesterday I rebuild xorg-server and tested: doom3 seems to load fine at first but then causes a kernel panic. Doom3 runs on this machine w/ normal xorg-server w/o any signs of the kernel panic. Every other ogl app I tested runned fine and didn't generate the panic.
The kernel panic seems to be related to fullscreen 32-bit ogl apps. NOT only doom 3. It is now only happening sometimes at the exit of the application. I'm pretty sure this is caused by something on the binary drivers.
x11-drivers: Do any of you guys have this game and an amd64 to verify? I know that neither SpanKY nor myself have ATI, and Mr_Bones_ doesn't have an amd64, so we cannot do much with this.
If this is still valid with newer kernels/xorg/drivers, then feel free to REOPEN it. We've gotten no response in months, so I'm not sure that there's anything that we can do about it, aside from throwing money out the window buying ATI. ;]
