Description Geoffrey Clements 2006-02-14 13:09:03 UTC
With OpenOffice 2.0.0 and now 2.0.1 the zoom window has text missing from the first three options. OpenOffice was compiled from sources. You can see what what I mean here: http://www.electron.me.uk/pics/OOoZoomText.png

Could be a problem with some missing strings in the en_GB translation, at least it doesn't happen with en_US here, maybe you can try with this one and see if that helps?

I tried the following:
$ LANG="en_US" oowriter2
$ LANG="C" oowriter2

In both cases I had the same problem.

That's no big surprise as you obviously emerged it with LINGUAS="en_GB", so en_US wasn't even built, so you can't activate it now ;)

So if you want to try out if it is better with en_US you will have to re-emerge openoffice unfortunately... (with LINGUAS="en")

I posted this problem on the gentoo forums about a month ago and didn't get a single "me too", I can't believe I'm the only one with LINGUAS="en_GB" so my guess is that this isn't the problem (plus I don't really want to recompile OpenOffice :-).

It must be something particular about my system but I've no idea what :-/

In any case, thanks for your suggestions.
