This is fixed perl-5.8.8, no easy fix for 5.8.7 without a lot of irate folks at re-emerging perl for a single line fix. Alternatively, emerge sync - podparser is pointed to via the virtual everywhere now, and in most cases that virtual is satisfied with the version of perl currently installed on your box.
