These are the packages that I would merge, in order.  
  
Calculating dependencies     
  
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy "pari" have been masked.  
  
  
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "pari".  
  
!!! Error calculating dependancies. Please correct.  
  
 
so the package is masked, however i am told that no package exists at all ...

Yep.... I guess that isn't right is it...

Fixed in CVS for 2.0.46 release.
