Description Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-09 06:42:15 UTC
According to the CVS log messages, sys-apps/hwdata-gentoo "performs the same task", so perhaps hwsetup's ebuild shouldn't RDEPEND on it. sys-apps/portage-2.1_pre4-r1 gives me the following error:

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies /
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "sys-apps/hwdata-knoppix".
(dependency required by "sys-apps/hwsetup-1.1" [ebuild])

!!! Problem resolving dependencies for x11-misc/mkxf86config
!!! Depgraph creation failed.

This was already fixed in the tree.

No, it's not fixed at all. RDEPEND still refers to a non-existent package sys-apps/hwdata-knoppix.

You're right... it was libkudzu I was thinking of...

Also, perhaps next time you could try contacting me rather than adding QA... It really is better to try to resovle this amongst ourselves rather than immediately being a "taddle tale" and running off to QA. I made a mistake. It is pretty easy to do. What this shows me is that I probably don't want to go out of my way to work with you in the future, because if you disagree or find fault in what I might say or do, you're going to go running to "mommy". Try to be a bit more considerate next time and at least attempt to work with the developer in question.
