Steps to reproduce:
1. have knetload running
2. Click on applet handle and configure applet
3. Choose interfaces section
4. Choose an interface
5. click edit
6. click ok or cancel

expected behaviour: nothing changes
actual result: the area occupied by knetload now has uniform background color

You would want to edit the changes for example to adjust the scale of the display.

Workaround: Remove and re-add applet

This bug was observed running kde-3.5.1

This should be filed at bugs.kde.org so the KDE developers can fix the issue.

Will take a look at that in the next days, I was already planning resuming the work on it now that net-snmp seems to work on amd64.
