ProFTPD should be updated to 1.2.7 (change keyword from "~arch" to "arch").
The change from rc3 is very small and it's unlikley that it breaks anything.

I've installed it on my sparc already so that plattform does not need to be
tested anymore. Only x86 is left.

According to the ProFTPD team rc3 does not contain any security issues. Please 
see the news posting from December 12th on www.proftpd.net for an explanation.
