Description Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-07 11:01:52 UTC
The multipath udev rule file runs multipath on every block device, claiming it as a device-mapper disk, so mounting /dev/sdXY no longer works (you have to go through /dev/mapper). This isn't desired!

This is fixed in the upstream tree:

http://kernel.org/git/?p=linux/storage/multipath-tools/.git;a=blobdiff;h=10751cef75b94563c1906c76d74b54703b7f177c;hp=cce40645b52c1f53d0156adeb2c9ce4e2b4483cd;hb=0be51097eec03fada1c0cd70b8bcffeea57d234f;f=multipath/multipath.rules

OK for me to revbump and commit this patch?

if you want to take the package, feel free

I'm not a good candidate for that - I don't actually use multipath. We just use one binary from the package and rely on the rest of the contents not screwing up the system :)
