as an addition to bug #107576, devs may consider including an option in files/tmpwatch.cron that will show how to clean the portage log dir (usually /var/log/portage). While not so large in size, I've over 5,000 files in it, many of them 0 bytes. The attached patch does not include the kde patch in bug #107576 but is diff'ed against files/tmpwatch.cron.
