Hi. It's weird you have got in Portage tree aplha version of cdrtools, but whatever, see $URL, there are few new versions ;-)
Yes, it's really time to bring up the new cdrtools, at the moment already alpha06. I can't see any reason why it is necessary to wait any longer. a03 and a04 were working fine with the scsi-buffer.patch. Since alpha05 the source of cdrtools is fine even for linux. alpha06 is working fine here. It is not usefull to test useless patches against cdrtools, because most of them has already become old.
Yeah. Changing summary, and priority to P3.
...alpha07...

Created attachment 81649 [details] temporary ebuild for cdrecord-2.01.01a07 This waiting room is getting full. I am sure that Jörg Schilling would say: "seems that cdrtools is unmaintained". And don't forget to install Solaris ;-)
cdrtools isn't unmaintained and we don't care what Jorg thinks :). The things are not so easy there's lots of things needs to be tested before.
(In reply to comment #4) > temporary ebuild for cdrecord-2.01.01a07 I looked into your ebuild. You took out the patches for cdrtools. In many cases this will work, but there are some few, where the patch are still needed. They are not solved in upstream's source. I currently test another ebuild patched by myself. If it works on my ppc with a current DVD-burner and on my x86 with a SCSI-burner, I will add it to the portage-tree.
Version bump done.
