Description Nelson Benítez 2006-02-04 09:25:10 UTC
Hi,
I emerged supertux game, when emerge finished a message told me to add me to 'games' group to been able to launch the game. So I added my user ('nelson') to 'games' group[1] but after that I can't even see[2] or launch[2] files in /usr/games/bin directory where supertux binary is.

[1] I'm on 'games' group:
nelson@gnelson ~/xmoto-0.1.10/bin $ cat /etc/group | grep games
30:games:x:35:nelson
39:users:x:100:games,nelson

[2] I don't have read or execute permission on games directory:
nelson@gnelson ~/xmoto-0.1.10/bin $ ls /usr/games/bin
ls: /usr/games/bin: Permiso denegado
nelson@gnelson ~/xmoto-0.1.10/bin $ /usr/games/bin/supertux
bash: /usr/games/bin/supertux: Permiso denegado

I paste emerge --info:

Check 'id' to see your groups. You have to re-login to make the changes count.
Comment 2 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-04 13:42:49 UTC
indeed. user error. log out and log back in to pick up any new groups. reopen if you still have a problem.
