Here's what's new in Firefox 1.5.0.1: * Improved stability. * Improved support for Mac OS X. * International Domain Name support for Iceland (.is) is now enabled. * Fixes for several memory leaks. * Several security enhancements. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/releases/1.5.0.1.html
According to: http://www.mozilla.org/security/announce/ 8 security holes, 1 critical so this should be fixed fast...
Renaming 1.5-r2 ebuild to 1.5.0.1 works fine (there may be some language packs compatibility issues, but probably only because they don't include proper compatibility info).
It is in the tree p.mask'd right now. I will be moving it all out to ~arch a bit later today. In a few days it will end up stable.
While you're at it, could you please bump firefox-bin?
