Description Piotr Romanus 2006-02-01 17:48:00 UTC
I can't configure exchange server settings as non-root user. Evolution Setup Assistant "Receiving Mail" dialog shows only username under "configuration" heading. No place to put server address. Everything works correctly however, if I run evolution as root.

This problem started after I upgraded gnome from 2.10 -> 2.12. which upgraded evo from 2.2 version. In previous version of evo I was using ximian-connector and I was able to configure exchange account with no problems.

To fix the problem I reinstalled evolution, evolution-exchange and evolution-data server. I also tried using ximan-connector-setup-2.4. I was able configure everything (as non-root user) but evolution crashes during startup when attemtping to read exchange account with the following message: "Evolution-exchange-storage" has quit unexpectedly.

Let me know if I can help in anything.

I have a similar problem on AMD64. However, for me it doesn't even work as root. The user field appears, but the server field does not, no matter how I try to run it.

do you guys have evolution-data-server compiled +ldap +kerberos?

Yes I have both of these flags set. I actually save the problem by removing all the gnome config files from my home directory see this post:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-427452.html

This is not a real solution though... I think I still have the old config files save somewhere. Let me know if you want to see them.
Comment 4 Robert Shideleff 2006-03-10 13:01:02 UTC
The unmerge of all things exchange followed by a re-emerge and a rm -rf ~/.evolution fixed this problem for me.

@reporter: are you still having this problem?
