I'm attaching the script 'courier-to-mailman.py' for inclusion in the contrib section of mailman. This script automates (and greatly simplifies) the submission of posts and administrative requests to mailman for lists on systems using the Courier MTA from Double Precision, Inc. This script is very similar to Bruce Perins' qmail-to-mailman.py script, but there are a number of differences, some of which are small but quite important. This script has been in use on a production system for 2 years and has worked perfectly and saved me a great deal of work. I submitted it as a suggested enhancement to mailman some time ago, but it was never included in the distributed version of mailman, so perhaps the gentoo mailman maintainers may want to add it to the gentoo ebuild. Note that the script should be installed into Mailman's /contrib directory and added to the list of scripts in configure and/or configure.in requiring preprocessing to make proper substitution for @prefix@, @PYTHON@, etc.

I think this is the upstream submission, right? http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=927761&group_id=103&atid=300103
please bug upstream, I don't see this is important enough to be included in the gentoo package.
I believe I passed this on some time ago to Brad Knowles, a colleague here in Austin and one of the Mailman devs, and they can do with it as they wish. It wasn't my intention that this should be a Gentoo issue when I submitted it a year and a half ago, but it was my hope at that time that someone could point me to the proper upstream. Looks like this didn't happen, but it's long ago water over the dam and this bug is properly marked and closed, IMHO.
