I use a 32bit mplayerplug-in extensively (custom ebuild and plugin file found here, for anyone interested: http://www.sh.nu/download/ebuilds/mplayer/) with 32bit firefox for all sorts of streaming media, but streams that require Live.com support will not work for now unless live support is compiled in mplayer-bin. Those streams include the Real rtsp:// type for example. Of course it would be useful to view or dump the stream outside the web browser too. So my request is to have live support compiled in mplayer-bin. I'm willing to test it if you want. Thank you.

won't work unless we add a binary ebuild of the live ebuild. $ mplayer-bin /opt/mplayer-bin/bin/mplayer-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libliveMedia.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
actually I think it might be possible to put it in app-emulation medialibs
