i read on the gentoo devs blog that many are using gcc 4.0.x considering that gcc4 has been released about 10 months ago and it's declared stable upstream, used in lots of distros and generally working, why not marking ~arch and then stabilize it? ~x86 and ~amd64 should be safe.
oops, i forgot... i'm writing this because i read: http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc/2006-01/msg00476.html a gcc 4.1 rc1 is around and 4.1 release too. just not to be too old :)
It is not ready yet. When it is ready, we will mark it ~arch.
ok, can we have a roadmap and an ETA for gcc4 so? or a list of bugs/problems needed to fix too. Thanks
The ETA is: when it is ready :) bug #117482 is the tracker bug for all gcc-4 related problems.
