Hi

Not really a bug, but I don't understand the point of installing hotplug.dev in /etc/dev.d/net, given that udev_run_devd returns immediately if DEVNAME is not set in environment and (or at least this is what I've understood) DEVNAME is set only when creating or removing a node, and not for network devices.

Besides this hotplug.dev will execute /etc/hotplug.d/default/default.hotplug if MANAGED_EVENT is not set in environment, and I don't find any code that sets this. But that script is already invoked by udev_run_hotplug, so that if DEVNAME were exported hotplug would receive the event twice.

The reason I'm filing a bug is that I broke my head for half a day to understand how it works and why hotplug logged the event only once :).

Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Slowly we are converting over from using hotplug, to only use udev. It's a gradual
process, and if you have any problems, please file them as bugs.

for now, as things are working, I'm closing this.
