I submitted a patch on am-utils-6.0.10 upstream, and they mentioned that 6.0 doesn't even get bug fixes frequently anymore (but that the patch had been applied in CVS). It was suggested that I move to 6.1 (stable) or 6.2 (testing). I think that it'd be a decent idea for Gentoo to make this move also, as I had no parallel build issues or UFS/ext2 issues (#120573) with an unpatched tarball of 6.1.3. (ebuild on the way)
Created attachment 78359 [details] am-utils-6.1.3.ebuild I used the am-utils-6.0.10 ebuild as a base and removed the src_unpack section (which was rerunning autoconf) since this ebuild doesn't require any patches and it cuts down on the total emerge time by a bit.
I've tested the ebuild on amd64 & x86. Both worked without a hitch.
all set, thanks
