eclipse-3.1.1-update-3.1.2.patch

Updated 3.1.1 ebuild like attached patch (no modifications except URI) works for me.
Comment 2 Matthias Dahl 2006-03-14 10:56:46 UTC
Is someone actually still maintaining the eclipse ebuilds in portage anymore? Most stuff is either outdated or hard masked. And having this bug around since early January without any reaction from the devs seems to support that. :-(

To keep this post on-topic: trying to emerge 3.1.2 now and will report back when it's finished.
Comment 3 Vasilis Lourdas 2006-03-15 05:13:39 UTC
The patch also works for me.
Comment 4 Urs Joss 2006-03-15 05:24:16 UTC
Works fine here too.
Comment 5 Matthias Dahl 2006-03-15 07:08:35 UTC
No problems here either. Works fine...!
Comment 6 lhervier 2006-03-20 06:29:27 UTC
also works for me.
Comment 7 Mike Slinn 2006-04-15 15:53:54 UTC
It's definitely time for 3.1.2 to be supported. It was released 18 Jan 2006 (almost 3 months ago).

Although I am currently not in the java- or dev-tools-herd, I have now checked in the updated version as it seems to work and does not require any real changes to the 3.1.1-ebuild. I see no reason not to make it available, especially as it is only a bugfix update to 3.1.1.

Dominik,

That was utterly inappropriate because, as you said yourself, you are part of neither the Java or dev-tools teams. You should have at the least attempted to contact these teams before touching eclipse-sdk. If you had done so, you would been told about issues like bug #126957 and that work was being done to clean up the current state of the eclipse ebuilds.
Comment 10 Dominik Stadler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-17 11:09:27 UTC
OOps, I'm sorry, but I did look at all the open eclipse bugs and could not find anything. I did not know that it is strictly forbidden to update other applications in CVS, it seemed nobody is actively working on this as there was no useful reply from any dev in this Bug. Also Bug #126957 seems to happen with eclipse 3.1.1 as well, so why is this a reason to not upgrade to 3.1.2?

Do I need to undo the CVS-changes?
