you should be using evolution-exchange instead of ximian-connector if you are using the latest stable gnome 2.12.
I will try out evolution-exchange as soon as I get a change. I did an emerge gnome a short time ago and it did not upgrade ximian-connector to evolution-exchange. Is that a bug?
How did switching to evo-exchange go?
Yes, upgrading to evolution-exchange worked but I had to remove ximian-connector first in order to fix the symlinks for the setup program. Also, seems like it is very confusing, as a user, to have to continue to type ximian-connector-setup when the package is now called evolution-exchange; exchange-connector-setup would be more intuitive as a name for the executable. Also, getting evolution to actually "let go" of the ximian-connector configured accounts was VERY troublesome. Evolution kept crashing and upon restart, the account was still there and had not been removed. Etc. I had to try and try, over and over, and eventually it removed the old Exchange account. The reason for this was that the new evolution-exchange setup program only allows ONE Exchange account where the ximian-connector setup program allowed many. So, I had to delete the old ximian-connector created ones BEFORE I could configure any news ones with evolution-exchange (and no, the old definition did not work for me in place without the upgrade; they immediately broke and would not work at all). Still seems like a bug to have gnome-2.12 upgrade NOT want to pull in the new evolution-exchange package.
Obsolete now with newer gnome versions.
