Description Weonbin 2006-01-26 05:54:18 UTC
Hi

Here is an ebuild for a sane backend to support some Primax parallel port scanners like Primax Colorado 300 Direct (more infos here : http://px-backend.sourceforge.net/)
Those scanners are a little old and the last official driver was for windows 98, so the only way to make them work on a recent system is with this backend which imho works pretty well.

I suggest media-gfx/primaxscan

Kevin

- do MY_P="${PN}.${PV}" and use that in SRC_URI= and S= instead hardcoding.
- src_unpack() is superfluous

ebuild

Removed the hardcoded package name & version
(I don't know if it's the proper way to do that)

~amd64 primaxscan-1.1_beta1.ebuild

works fine just needed the -fPIC like mentioned in some howtos
Comment 5 Marek Szuba archtester gentoo-dev 2016-06-07 06:06:42 UTC
Is there still any interest in having this included into Portage? Even the original post described the scanners it supports as "a bit old" and that was 10 years ago... Needless to say there hasn't been any upstream activity for a long time either.

In light of not having received any comments for 2 months, assuming there is no longer any user demand for this package. Closing the bug.
