Description Joshua Baergen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-25 19:34:07 UTC
This package needs some specific versions of docbook-xml-dtd. Currently versions are unspecified.

I don't have a tonne of time to spend on it, but the most recent stable version failed to compile without ~4.1.2 and ~4.3 installed. It may need ~4.4 as well, but I don't know for sure.

Could you please attach the complete emerge log, and also include the output from 'emerge --info'? Thanks.

Comment 4 Leonardo Boshell (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-30 01:52:38 UTC
The problem is not that docbook-sgml-utils depends on specific versions of the DTD that are not specified in the ebuild, but that your SGML catalog is broken. Please provide the complete log from:

  emerge ~app-text/docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2
  emerge ~app-text/docbook-xml-dtd-4.3

These are the concatenated logs from the installs.
Comment 8 Leonardo Boshell (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-30 22:05:54 UTC
Those logs look strange. Are any files being installed at all? Needless to say, I can't reproduce that behaviour and I don't really know what's happening. Any ideas?
Comment 9 Joshua Baergen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-01 18:33:01 UTC
Well, my system is a mess right now from the modular X porting work I've been doing. It's probably something wrong with catalog file like you suggested. I'll re-open if I come across this again.
