Then thats it. I don't see an error nor does the ebuild complete.

# emerge -pv sound-juicer

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Unmerge the duplicate version of linux-headers, re-emerge linux-headers, upgrade binutils to latest stable (2.16.1) and try again.

I also did a tcupdate and tried sound-juicer again. Still it just ends without an error, that I can see, but it is not installed.

Reopen with some error messages (Bug 104705)...

Output of emerge sound-juicer

The ebuild just stops. You will see the last line befer the # prompt.
Comment 6 Mike Kordik 2006-01-26 14:49:38 UTC
I added an attachment which is the entire ebuild output
Comment 7 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-26 14:53:41 UTC
OK, unless you upgrade portage to not eat the error messages (Bug 104705), there's nothing we could do here.
Comment 8 Mike Kordik 2006-01-26 16:42:53 UTC
OK. Upgrading portage wasn't obvious to me.

I did upgrade it. Then got rid of cdb.

sound-juicer gave me error messages this time which had to do with libdbus. I re-emerged dbus and saw a message about needing to run revdep-rebuils, which I did and now sound-juicer ebuild runs to completion.

Thanks for your help!
