Description Clint Dilks 2006-01-22 15:19:56 UTC
Hi,

My understanding is that equery is supposed to replace the qpkg tool. I am fairly new to Gentoo, but have found that is you are using an overlay directory such as "/usr/local/portage" equery does not detect the installed packages from this overlay. qpkg works as you would expect.

equery(0.1.3)

# equery list bzr
[ Searching for package 'bzr' in all categories among: ]
 * installed packages
[I--] [  ] dev-util/bzr-0.7_rc2 (0)
[I--] [  ] dev-util/bzrtools-999 (0)

Both are installed from overlay.

INVALID, closing.

I have tried different third party e-builds and they work as expected. Perhaps its something specific to the ebuilds I have inherrited. Anyway appologies for wasting your time.
