Description Francisco José Cañizares Santofimia 2006-01-21 04:06:40 UTC
Simgear (at least its version 0.3.9) should depend on Alut appart from openal. If this is not done, Simgear will not compile.

Thanks in advance.

You'll need to provide more information, as the version of openal with alut split out is still under package.mask due to exactly this issue.

Please let us know:

emerge --info
version of simgear
version of openal

Nevermind on the simgear version... just spotted that (too early to be bug sqaushing... heh)
Comment 3 Francisco José Cañizares Santofimia 2006-01-21 12:17:10 UTC
Yes, sorry.

I've forgot to check if it was in pckage.mask :)
I didn't added more information before because I though the both were stable. :)

I've been using simgear-0.3.8 and openal 20050504-r2 and that versions compiled perfectly, but when I tried to compile simgear 0.3.9 (in a -uD world) it failed because al/alut.h was not present. So, I checked the ebuild and the system, and I found that alut was not present, so I did an emerge alut, this is why I think alut should be in dependacies of openal.
But well... as openal is package-masked, perhaps this bug is invalid (although perhaps a -r1 should be done and package-mask it for package-masked openal).

Thanks in advance.

Well, alut is masked also (and has been)... I did update the mask description, but it is going to be some time before I get to updating all of the necessary packages in the tree. I am leaving this bug open because I will want to revisit this eventually.

This is fixed now in CVS
