this patch, how ever will be included in 1.4.10, but i guess i would be better pre-patch under gentoo.
lighttpd on gentoo use a nice modularize configuration, but some sub configuration might have difficulty to set server wide setting when it's included within a condition.
so here goes a patch to implement "global { ... }".

1.4.10 was committed about a week ago.
