On https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=1664 I found a patch to compile envy24control against GTK2 instead of 1.2*. envy24control is an audio mixer which can be used to control cards which are built around the envy24/ice1712 chipset like the EWS88 MT/D.

alsa-tools-1.0.11rc* already contains the patch, and i changed to ebuild according this one and still get gtk1 envy24control even using USE="-gtk gtk2". Any ideas? Would be very nice to see envy24control gtk2 in portage. gtk2 looks so much better (=
Created attachment 82995 [details, diff] alsa-tools-1.0.11_rc3-gtk2.patch ok, managed to get it to compile with gtk2. boy it looks so nice! patch for alsa-tools-1.0.11_rc3 ebuild attached. I admit it looks a bit ugly, but works
The patch looks ok for me... I'm at work now and can't test it until tonight... According to the alsa bugzilla, this is as far as the gtk2 support gets in alsa-tools, so this hack is needed to get the gtk2 version into portage... Devs: please consider to bump a revision and include this gtk2 'hack'...
Created attachment 82996 [details, diff] alsa-tools-1.0.11_rc3-gtk2.patch removed the absolute path to the ebuild to be able to patch the ebuild in the current directory (overlay)
alsa-tools now builds with GTK2 already.
