Description Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-13 13:54:59 UTC
gtk2 use flag is deprecated (see Bug 106560), please remove it from Working with Gentoo - USE Flags section. It was used for selecting between gtk-1* and gtk-2* support where both are available for a particular package, which didn't work as intended and was just confusing. Now that it's deprecated and being gradually removed from ebuilds, I'd rather see it go away from handbook, so that we don't confuse users.

Thanks.

(While at it, there are probably better use flag examples than the current alphabetical use.desc snip in Code Listing 1, I've never used half of the ones mentioned there.)

Done.

Those were just a random block of lines from use.desc. Removed. Local files are mentioned and a link to the online index should be enough.
FYI, the global online list will show local use flags one of these days (bug 112712)

Thanks for reporting.
