The package lacks of a file  /etc/logrotate.d/acpid with a content like:
n22 /etc/logrotate.d # cat acpid

/var/log/acpid {
  daily
  rotate 7
  nocompress
}

USE="logrotate" emerge acpid works just fine w/ >=1.0.4
